Nancy Stone founded Stone Strategic Management in 2013 with a vision of helping business leaders increase their effectiveness in pursuit of their goals.

Nancy’s background includes diverse disciplines and industries, providing a rich source of knowledge and perspective—and honing her innate ability to perceive clearly what others often don’t. She served in leadership roles at publicly held ILX Resorts Incorporated from start-up through sale, including vice chair, president, and chief operating officer—and she was chief financial officer during the company’s initial public offering.

In addition to her time with ILX, Nancy played a key role in numerous organizations. She was appointed CEO for a multistate business undergoing reorganization, where she successfully led its return to profitability. As the treasurer of a private holding company, she was part of a team targeting undervalued companies for acquisition, adding value through operational efficiency or consolidation, and strategically holding for long-term appreciation or selling for near-term gain. At one of the foremost real estate developers in the Southwest, she was responsible for repositioning the company to capitalize on changing market opportunities and was recruited to a professional services and consulting firm to develop a specialty practice. Earlier in her career, she gained invaluable training and experience with major companies, including international accounting firm Arthur Anderson and for-profit higher education company DeVry.

“Nancy has been a great friend and colleague for more than 25 years. But even more, she provides an insightful and knowledgeable sounding board for every senior executive’s most complex problems. Nancy’s business ethics, acumen, and insights are unmatched, and her advice and counsel have literally helped our company save millions of dollars. Nancy is unquestionably one of Marsh Aviation’s most vital business consultants.”

In addition to serving on boards of public and private companies, Nancy has served in a leadership capacity for local and national civic, trade and charitable organizations as an engaged board member and active committee member. Her experience includes work with St. Mary’s Food Bank, Experience Matters, Childsplay, ConnectUS, and the American Resort Development Association.

Nancy earned her master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Michigan State University.
